Filling in the void

Haven't been blogging for the loooongest time!

There's alot that has happened since the last entry but nothing so major that has changed the family homefront much so I will just update with some recent photos to keep this blog a bit refreshed!

Its a long time since I last blogged and also a long time since we went to Ghim Moh Market for breakfast.

The food centre remains as crowded as before and surprisingly, the 老板娘 of the coffee stall still remembers me and what we usually ordered before. :)

Samsung WB150 Long-zoom camera!

Bought this camera at Comdex 2012 today

Thanks to NRZ for driving me there in comfort and keeping me company throughout the 'shopping trip' despite that he was very stressed by the parking and the deafening announcements from the loudspeakers at the venue.

He was very smart to park at the Blue Zone carpark which led directly to the convention centre via the lifts! Only that the lifts were perpetually full and we had to be a bit 'aggressive' to be able to get in one of them eventually after waiting for 15 minutes.

Samsung WB150 Longzoom camera is cool! Paid $319 for it, and it came with the following gifts: a 8gb SD card, a camera case, extra Samsung battery and a Samsung Blueray player.

04 August 2012 (Saturday) - NUS DSA Preview

Went to the NUS Tea Session Preview at 8.30 am yesterday.

















Was first hosted by a Year 6 student named Charles and I asked him many questions. Hope I did not seem very obnoxious to the other parent who was with us.

Later we listened to the Vice-Principle's talk and he shared that there were 1874 applicants and 153 were given Confirmed Offers (CO). He didn't reveal the waitlist number though.








We were treated to a tea reception at 11 am which was not bad - there was bee hoon, fried wanton, siew mai, egg tarts, cream eclairs etc.

After that, we checked out the Humanities room, Maths room and Language rooms.

28 Jul 2012 (Sat) - At SST

NRZ sent Edison to take the SST Second Round Test which was scheduled from 8:15 am to 10:30 am. Unfortunately, I had an awful stomachache in the morning and could not join them when they drove there after their breakfast at McDonalds. Fortunately, my tummy felt better and I was able to join NRZ when he drove back to SST to fetch Edison home. SST has a very nice aqua-pond just in front of its canteen which has quite a few turtles swimming freely in it. Fleming loves turtles, so NRZ took the opportunity to take some videos and pictures of the swimming creatures in the water.

As for the SST experience, I can't say too much at this moment as there will still be another batch of students scheduled for the Second Round Test next week. What I can say is that the boys were put together in a group of 5 to do some activities, and my boy did us proud because he made good contributions that were acqknowledged by his groupmates during these group activities :).
