28 Jul 2012 (Sat) - At SST
NRZ sent Edison to take the SST Second Round Test which was scheduled from 8:15 am to 10:30 am.
Unfortunately, I had an awful stomachache in the morning and could not join them when they drove there after their breakfast at McDonalds.
Fortunately, my tummy felt better and I was able to join NRZ when he drove back to SST to fetch Edison home.
SST has a very nice aqua-pond just in front of its canteen which has quite a few turtles swimming freely in it. Fleming loves turtles, so NRZ took the opportunity to take some videos and pictures of the swimming creatures in the water.
As for the SST experience, I can't say too much at this moment as there will still be another batch of students scheduled for the Second Round Test next week. What I can say is that the boys were put together in a group of 5 to do some activities, and my boy did us proud because he made good contributions that were acqknowledged by his groupmates during these group activities :).

26 Jul 2012 (Thursday) - Visit to Paypal
Forgot to bring my handphone this morning and had to trouble NRZ to drive all the way back home to get it. Thanks NRZ for being so patient with me always! ^.^
Rushed to office just in time to take a lift from Janny to Paypal Office in Suntec City together with Kim and Wendy.
Paypal's office is awesome. Here's a picture of the User Experience Design team we met. This team is truly globalised - they are from various countries ranging from USA, Thailand, Korea, India and so on.
Oh, and SP had a fire in Foodcourt 4 today! You can read about it at TodayOnline or Stomp.

24 Jul 2012 (Tuesday) - HDB free! / Dark Knight Rises
NRZ and I went to the HDB branch office to apply for full capital repayment of our HDB flat via CPF funds. The transaction was speedy and hassle-free, and so we can officially declare we have paid up our HDB flat in a month's time :)
In the evening, I brought my PTs for dinner + "Dark Knight Rises" movie at Plaza Singapura.
I have such a lovely PT class ^.^

23 Jul 2012 (Monday) - IC / Edison RI DSA interview
Only realised today that we had left my identity card with Alan Lai at the showroom on Sunday when I was at the bank and could not perform any over-the-counter banking transaction without it.
Luckily Alan was willing to rush down to pass me the ICs and I managed to complete the transaction successfully.
NRZ took half day to send Edison to his DSA interview at RI so we met up at Clementi for lunch.
After the RI interview, Edison told us he thought he performed better at this one compared to the HCI one. He said he knew better of what to expect. He was also fortunate that the questions the interviewers asked him were not too tough.

The prices offered at this condo launch are indeed very attractive - average of $800 psf.

21 Jul 2012 (Saturday) - Edison's NUSH DSA Camp
After taking the NUSH DSA test on 23 Jun, we were informed on 13 Jul (Fri) that Edison had managed to get into the second round.
He went for the NUSH DSA camp this morning which is scheduled super early at 7.15 am! When we reached the school at 7.05 am, there was already a steady stream of parents and students waiting for the registration to open.
According to the kiasu parents thread (Page 1068)we read, there are about 400 students selected for this round and NUSH's cap for this selection is at most 180 students. However, records show that in the DSA of the previous year, NUSH did not accept up to its maximum quota and only offered places to around 150 students.

So many happenings in Sungapore lately.
Just this morning:
Scaffolding Bugis Downtown Line MRT construction site collapses, killing 2.
Two days ago, it was a fire which broke out at East Village hotel, injuring 11 persons.
COE prices increase by 15% to $68k.
The only more appeasing news is that the coverage for Medishield seems to have kind of improved?

My eyes watered when I read this article (罗慧娟脱发吐血 告别特辑曝光).
视频中的罗慧娟，把治疗过程中挨了60针，脱发变光头，甚至吐血的情况，毫不保留地呈现。
她还调皮地回应外间对她的看法："好多人都说罗慧娟好惨，一生好坎坷，有多坎坷呢，最多就3样！"
罗慧娟所说的3样东西，就是负资产、耳聋及患癌，说到耳疾及患上严重抑郁症时，罗慧娟数度哭成泪人，直认打击很大，但乐观的她认为，就是因为之前的种种挫折，才令她明白什么是"人碎灵出"，所以之后面对癌病时才能变得正面。

15 Jul 2012 (Sunday) - Real-estate agents who made it good
15 Jul 2012 (Sunday) - My automatic alarm clock
Sigh. My body seems to have built its own automatic 'alarm clock'.
I slept at 2 am last night, and should only wake up at 10 am today to get my full 8 hours of sleep. But somehow, I was awakened from my dreams at 7:50 am this morning and could not get back to sleep after that.
Only 6 hours of sleep! :( That would mean the pimples would start popping up again and the 'panda-eye' monster would return to haunt me again.
Breakfast@KFC today

14 Jul 2012 (Sat) - JB properties
The past few Saturdays were mostly used up trying to catch up with work or accompanying Edison to the various schools to sit for his DSA tests.
So it is a great relief that that today was 'free' from these commitments and the whole family was free to 'slack' abit.
In the morning, we sent the kids to their Science and NMOS lessons at Maths n Science Hub. After their lessons, we went to the coffee-shop to buy lunch. Edison bought his usual 'Yong-tau-foo' while Fleming ordered his favourite 'Popo Mee'. Today, the queue at the 'Popo Mee' stall was horrendous. We waited for around 30 minutes before Fleming's order was ready because some customer ahead of us ordered something like 10 bowls or something!
As for NRZ and me, we 'tak-pow' Mr Bean riceball beancurd and bean biscuits.
Talking about Mr Bean, we tried the apple pie sundae which is a July 'star' item on promotion for $2. Pretty nice!
By the time we finished lunch, it was around 1:30 pm and I thought to myself, that would give me lots of time to catch up on the sleep I lost during the weekdays with a long nap!
Turned out that as I was casually surfing the net, I somehow started looking at JB properties on sale. Then as I was browsing the first site, I got hooked to viewing the second site, and then the third, and the rest is history. So when I finally stopped, it was already 5:00 pm and it was time for dinner.
Had dinner @ Prata Wala and after that, we went to NTUC Fairprice to do our weekly grocery shopping to buy our favourite Peelfresh Fruit Juice.
