Scoot Airlines started a 48 hours promotional blitz to launch its Taipei flights yesterday.
I already knew about this promotion the day before since I was a fan on their Facebook Page. But I did not think of wanting to book this airline as NRZ has never been keen on budget airlines.
Well, turned out that NRZ called me up yesterday and asked me if I want to check out the fares and make a booking since we had already made some plans to visit Taiwan this December holidays.
I acted on his suggestion and tried out the booking engine on Scoot. For the first few minutes, I could not get in at all. The site was inudated with offer
seekers like me! Finally, after multiple attempts, I finally saw the long-awaited booking page!
Selecting the flights was a breeze, the booking engine user interface is friendly and easy to navigate.
Just that I did not have our parents passport information ready and I was frantically trying to contact them to get it. Git kicked out by the time-out feature and had to rekey in the dame information about three times.
I chose the "Fly-Bag-Eat" package for the seven of us so the total price for the tickets was $2791. But Scoot added some sort of "convenience fee" at check out when I used credit card to make the payment, and the bill ended up being $2903. @.@
After filling in the required passport information, I was asked to select the meals onboard. Disappointed by the range they provide. Not many choices - chicken briyani, soya sauce chicken, cold sandwiches, lagsange etc. I feel sorry for my parents-in-law, they are vegetarian and the two vegetarian meals Lagsange and Mushroom look totally unappetizing. The worst thing is that they don't provide hot beverages as part of the package. >.<
The seat selection process was very good though, smooth and hassle-free. We choose the middle seats (4 in a row) plus anither three on the window side so we could all sit together.
Looking forward to this trip! ^.^
