Edison takes GAT at Republic Polytechnic
We are up earlier today because we have to send Edison for his GAT Test for SST's DSA.
The test starts at 9 am and expected to end at 12.30 pm.

Very warm night
So warm today.. took a shower without turning on the heater. And its been a long time since I did that.

Friendly taxi driver
Took a taxi today to visit my Internship student in Toa Payoh North and the taxi driver was really friendly.
During the journey, he shared with me assorted candid tidbits about himself:
- he is actually a part-time taxi driver cum part-time car dealer.
- on most days, he drives only 8 hours and would make about $50-60
- his brother is 44 years old and his 大嫂 is merely 38 years old but is already a grandmother! @.@ His 大嫂's daughter is already 19 years old!
- He got married (ROM) 10 years ago before but a few months after the ROM solemnisation, his wife asked for a split from him.
Amazing how people can share such information with you even you hardly know them... @.@
When I alighted from the taxi, he was in a good mood.
He kept saying he was lucky to meet a passenger like me who talked and listened to him pleasantly although there was one point when he made a wrong turning and had to take a much longer route.
He remarked "如果每位搭客都象你那么好脾气，世界就太平了！"
He added that it would not make economic sense for taxi-drivers to purposely take a longer route to earn 20 cents per km for the extra distance chalked. They get more by quickly alighting a passenger to his destination and picking up a brand new one which starts at a $4.00 instantly.
Before I stepped off the taxi, he thanked me , "I am lucky to meet such a nice passenger like you as my first customer; a good start to my day."
Well, his words left me in a light-hearted and thoughtful mood too.
I must admit, I wasn't always a "good taxi passenger"; there were occasions when I got impatient with the taxi driver for taking certain routes which I felt took longer.
But after this experience, I will be more conscious of how I feel and react when I am in such a situation.
Just by staying calm and cheerful, we make a difference not just to our own moods, but we affect others whom we interact with too.

今天，知道自己并没有获得心里想得到的东西，难免有点失望。
不过，想一想，比起好多人，自己已经真的是很辛福了。
世界上，每天想佣有的事物，永远追不完。如果把生命和快乐，建立在追求这些物质上的满足，必定会不时遇到偶而的失望与沮丧。
塞翁失马，焉知非福。有时后，少了这种期望，反而心情轻松，更容易开心。
反正，知足常乐，这句道理，我会牢记在心里，让它帮我度过这些生活上有点不是很悦耳的小小的插曲。 ：）
