Kindness doesn't always get a second chance

Dora can do with a little more patience.

This week has been a pretty fulfilling one as I managed to settle some pretty tasks at work.

The feelings of satisfaction were elevated further when I saw my students "achieving" in their liitle own ways; from a novice in html, css, javascript to the "expert" some of them have become. They are gaining their own sense of achievement as they slowly complete each webpage on their own and feeling useful as they start to help their friends who had problems.

But back to my lack of patience. Yeah, I think I did an overall good job in imparting twchnical skills to my stufents. But I regret that in the process, I was not patient enough with them, was a little too harsh to some of them, spent too little time on them compared to others.

Seriously, I feel a sense of remorse towards this little handful of guys that I did not didplay the kindest behaviour. I wanted to make it up to them during yesterday's lesson, but ... they were absent.

So treasure every opportunity you have to be kind to someone, because often, when you want, the chance is no longer there.

Next week is my last lesson with them, I hope they would be there.

Fleming and his stamps

Painstaking efforts by Fleming to soak the stamps in a bowl of hot water and then peeling them off one by one to dry on the F4 board before putting them in his stamp album.

Wasted waiting

Just wasted 1.5 hours waiting at Coronation Plaza for nothing because we didn't know the uniform supplier of NYPS is no longer United Uniforms but has changed to Shanghai Uniforms ay Bras Basah Complex.

Arrgh. Got to make a trip down there later. Hope those sized 36 tees won't run out before we reach there.

Ordered two drinks just to fill up the 1.5 hours waiting time

Rough is better than smooth

It's great! They've "upgraded" the flooring below my flat to some pebbly material which will make the floor less slippery when it rains.

The old flooring was a hazard because it would become very slippery whenever it rains and there were a few occasions when me or NRZ nearly skidded and fell.

Happy Birthday Edison!

Went through timers demo with 3B01 and helped 2B03 with tjeir assignment today. One of those better days where I managed to satisfactorily perform my duty as a teacher I think :)

Today is Edison's 11th birthday. How my boy has grown. He is now 150 cm tall, just 5 cm shorter than me. I hope he overtakes me soon, and ideally, one day, overtakes his Daddy in height too.

Happy Birthday darling, Mummy loves you and hopes you'll lead a happy life and stay optimistic, cheerful and resilient, no matter what you do or where you are.
