ACS HAST

On leave again today.

Not to rest, but to send Edison to his HAST at ACS Independent by 8.30 am.

The HAST test for ACS DSA 2012 was conducted from 9.00 am to 11.30 am comprising 3 sections

1) Reading Comprehension - 45 minutes
2) Mathematical Readining - 40 minutes
3) Abstract Reading - 30 minutes

After the test, Edison was really tired and he admitted that though the first two tests were manageable, the last test was pretty tough! There were 30 questions to answer and there were about 20% he did not really know how to answer.

Slept the whole afternoon today because I had period cramps.

Watched this touching Thai Insurance commercial just now. Couldn't help but cried abit. The Thais are so awesomely creative.

On Leave :)

Today I am on leave.

It’s great to be on leave.   First,  I did not wake up at my usual 6 am timing,  but slept all the way until 9 am.  Second, I managed to catch up with my beloved cousin Ruth during her lunch-time.  Third, I had a good time bonding with my cute Fleming which I think I have not done for the longest of time.

Here’s a picture of Fleming and Ruth.  We had lunch at Han’s in Great Eastern Centre.

It’s a long time since we had a “快点快点” :)

Don’t wait until the kids are no longer interested to listen to you telling them a story

Have been sleeping really late for the past few weeks.  Last night I slept at almost 2 am and woke up at 6:45 am today.  Obviously, the lack of sleep is taking a toll on me, the pimples are popping up non-stop!

It’s the kids’ last week of the June vacation, and just a few more days to enjoy leisurely breakfast with them, so we went to McDonalds again this morning.

Had lunch with Rachel and Wang Wei today @ SPGG.

Rachel was relating about a book she had read in which the author, a high-income earner expressed his regrets that he had not spent more time with his children.

At the peak of his career, his kids were also at the age when they would make small requests to him like, “Daddy, please read to me!”.  The author,  engrossed in his work, would typically reply, “Tomorrow, dear!”. And when “tomorrow” came, the author would say, “Tomorrow”.  And so this pattern kept repeating until one day, the author found that his children were no longer kids, and when he wanted to sit down and tell them stories, they were no longer interested to listen to his stories.

A good reminder from this story.   I must always remember to give time to the kids while they still need and want us.  Don’t wait until the day when you are “ready”, but they are not anymore…

Father's Day 2012

Wanted to do a longer entry, but really should try to catch up on my sleep already, so I will just let the pictures do the talking for this entry.
