What’s so special about this entry is that I am typing it, not in front of my PC at home, but in this nice cosy, over-looking the beach room in Turi Beach, Batam.
Checked in with 85 others from the School of SMAE, School of CASS and our own DMIT students at 11 am this morning and woah, it has been a GREAT experience so far. Great room, great food, great hospitality from the resort staff who kept asking us “Do you need anything, please let us know if you need anything” and greet you “Good afternoon”, “Good evening” at every corner you turn.
And yay, we get broadband Internet access! Only peeve is that its wired Internet access, but well, got Internet mai hiam already , I guess!
The ride to Batam however was a totally different experience. It was REAL BAD!
Before the ferry started moving, it kept swaying from side to side, and all of us were kinda scared something serious might happen, haha. After it started moving, the ride was better, but it had to be spoiled by some annoying passengers who kept smoking on the ferry and polluting the enclosed space inside the ferry. Buay Tarhan!
But like I said, luckily, after that horrible ferry journey, we all had a good time at the Resort.
I was assigned to Group 7 and Group 4 today. We did the High Ropes challenge today. I tried it too, but woah, it really requires alot of strength. Most of the students had no problems with it, I was ok with the first 3 stations, but come to the last station, I had lost most of my strength, and was stuck halfway for about 10 minutes and almost thought I couldnt make it. But luckily , with the encouragement of the students below, I made it! Phew! :)
Ok, time to head for bed, it will be another very tiring day tomorrow cos we are going jungle trekking!
