Didnt waste $12 afterall

Based on the recommendation of NRZ’s colleague, we placed an order for this Wii Remote Charger which seemed very attractively priced at $8.39USD with free shipping.  After conversion to SGD at an exchange rate of 0.697423 USD, it costs only SGD$12.03.  Considering the package comes with a Wii Remote Controller Charger + 2 x 2800mAh batteries, it was a real bargain.

I placed the order on 06 April 2010 and patiently waited for the package to arrive, expecting it to come within 10 to 14 days at most.  However, the package failed to reach us by 20 April.  It still did not appear by 25 April. And three weeks later at 27 April, we still had not received it.  I logged in to the BuyInCoins portal and realised that the package was dispatched way back on 08 Apr 2010.  The portal even had a photo of the mailing package.

By this time, we had already given up hope on ever getting it.  I submitted a feedback form to BuyInCoins to enquire about the status, though I had little expectation we had any chance to get it.  True enough, no reply on 28 Apr, and still no reply on 29 April.

Today is 30 April, and when we gingerly opened our mailbox again after work, there was still no sigh of our long awaited package.  That’s it, I thought, $12 fly away liao.

But to my pleasant surprise, when I settled down at my PC after dinner, I saw this gray airmail package stuffed among my ‘handbag box’ (The handbag box is a cardboard box where I keep my assortment of handbags that I swap in and out on different days for work / weekends).

Was it .. the…

Yup, it was!

So happy!!  So the $12 was not ‘gone’ after all.  And that was a rather pleasing wrap up to my Friday, besides that its weekend! haha :)
